Ecological Agriculture for Good Food, Better Environment, and the Best Life
In 1995, VOICE Trust embraced integrated farming as a core activity, recognizing that agriculture provides food for all, protects the environment, and offers employment to many. The VOICE team has shared nature-centric techniques with farming communities across parts of the Trichy District. As of 2024, 7,800 farmers are committed to producing poison-free food and participating in fair trade ethical marketing, creating direct links between producers and consumers.
From 1999 to 2004, VOICE Trust organized Training of Trainers (TOT) programs in Integrated Farming Systems (IFS) for 105 participants from across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. On February 2, 2000, VOICE Trust founded Iyarkai Velaan Inaiyam (IVI) – a forum for eco-farming. Today, IVI has 150 active groups in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. By July 2021, VOICE Trust extended project support to 3,360 women farmers across 40 districts in two states.
In 2013, Mrs. A. Jecintha, Managing Trustee of VOICE Trust, earned Organic Certification from the Government of India for Nature Wonder Organic Farm in Siruganur, Trichy District. This certification was not for commercial purposes, but to promote nature-centric agriculture. The model farm is regularly used for training in integrated farming and for producing value-added products. Since 2021, VOICE Trust has supported women in agribusiness through a project funded by Benevity, and continues to foster Eco–Enviro–Economic Enterprises across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
